Paradise Key and Dan's Tiki Bar in the Fake Taj

View from sundeck at Paradise Key

Wednesday, March 3, it is chilly at 41 degrees this morning. It is 51 in the living room when I get up. The digital picture frame starts my day with a cup of coffee on the side. Then I work on journal pages and pictures. Bob and I have a light breakfast before I walk with Nan and Roxy at 9:30. A Keckner repair truck, different guy and different truck, comes next door on our curbside. Nobody is home. The guy next to us leaves for work early in the morning in his loud truck. Nan and I see the repair guy's truck in the permanent sites at the travel trailer. And then his truck is back by us and our neighbor is home. He must have called him.

Nan and her HUGE Nachos!

As we round the corner in the other section we see the construction is continuing on the new lot. We head home and I stretch and work on my journal pages. We clean up and meet Nan, Tom and Dan next door for lunch. Dan drives his Ford King Ranch pickup. We all pile in and on the way he points out Hemingway's on a side street in Rockport. Then he heads out to Paradise Key on this gorgeous day. We eat out of the sun deck as a gal clears the last available table in the sun for us. It's too chilly to sit in the shade but the sun is inviting.

Dan and his fried oysters

Dan and Nan have Paradise Margaritas (which turn out to be $9.00 each when the bill arrives.) Dan shares his Coconut Shrimp appetizer with all of us. It is served with a tasty pineapple sauce. Bob and I have Mahi-Mahi, blackened and grilled respectively. I have to try the sweet potato fries. Tom tries to get Ahi Tuna Sandwich but is served Mahi-Mahi when it comes out so he sticks with it. Nan has HUGE chicken nachos. The waitress warned her about the size because a lady yelled at her once for not telling her how big they are. Lunch was great and Dan tells us about a guy at the bar who walks out to his boat in the marina to get him a cigar.

Bob, Tom, Nan and Dan soak up the sun at Paradise Key

We have a driving tour past Oysterfest preparations in Fulton. We discover that Dan was at Rustic Cove maybe at the same time we were there last year. And as we get near out Park, Dan drives through two new RV Parks. Aransas Bay is right across 35 Bypass. It will have 75 sites when completed and all but three are reserved for next year. And you must commit to a minimum of four months! The Palms, behind Lowe's, has all concrete over every square inch of the Park and the sites are jammed together. Not my thing.

At last we head home to tour Dan's Holiday Rambler Presidential 5th wheel. On the outside it looks almost like Bud and Billie's Taj Mahal. But he had them gut the inside and did his own thing. His dinette table and chairs, sofabed and recliners are gone. Instead he has a tiki bar and rattan furniture with a big palm tree. It really looks homey. He serves a great German wine; Cabernet Sauvingnon that reminds me of the port at Hermanoff.

Dan offers a toast at his Tiki Bar in the fake Taj Mahal

We all chat and sip our wine until Dan's friend Steve arrives. We soon discover that we knew him from Rustic Cove last year. I would see him and Debbie with their dogs Angel the dachshund and Ranger the husky as I walked every day. They were in the Montana 5th wheel behind us. It was their dogs who were in the back of the truck a few days ago in front of Dan's next to us. What a small world.

Steve dials Julie's number and gives me the phone. How fun. Julie was my walking and shopping pal last year at Rustic Cove. We chat for a bit. I told her I asked about her at the Aquarium the other day in Rockport. Her and Chet have appointments in Corpus tomorrow and will try to come by here later afternoon.

Bob, Dan and Steve belly up to the bar

Debbie arrives on her motorcycle after work. We enjoy the fruits of Dan's bar until they all suggest food. We take a break for Steve and Debbie to ride their bikes home to Rockport. They are renting land from Keckner RV Service's owner who is also fixing their furnace that has a similar problem to ours. They got a new circuit board and it didn't fix their problem.

We all go to our RVs to get snacks for the feast. Bob and I get Aunt Dot's Cheeseball, crackers, beer and Smirnoff. Nan and Tom bring veges and Ritz PB cookies. I go back home for Bailey's to make butter nipples (or slippery nipples as they call them.) My little glasses are a big hit. We all visit, drink and snack until 9:00. As we leave we make tentative plans to go to Oysterfest together on Saturday. It's 10:26 p.m. The high was 72 today. This is the best weather day since we've been here.s

Keckners Furnace Guy

Tuesday, March 2, it is a chilly 46 degrees at 7:00 a.m. We didn't leave the heater on so the living room is 52 degrees this morning as I work my crossword. I catch up on journal pages and check email. We have a light breakfast. I walk with Nan and Roxy at 9:30. A crew is working on the sold lot across from Terri and Jerry. Two older gents cruising by in a truck stop us and ask which lots are for sale. We point them to the office and the brochures. I have gloves and ear muffs on in Texas in March! What's that all about?

It looks like the trash has already been picked up and I didn't get mine out the door. But the guy driving the cart around says to put it out, he'll get it. How nice. Back home to put out the trash and wait for the furnace repair guy. The company called at 3:30 and said we're on the schedule between noon and 2:00. What a concept to keep the customer informed.

Lo and behold he shows up just after 11:00. His truck heads back to the permanent sites but a few minutes later he comes over to our row. Bob goes out and the guy tests the circuit board and declares it to be the problem. he gets our serial number and will order the part. He may be back out by Friday. We'll keep our fingers crossed. That would be way too easy!

We have an email from Bud. he flies to Virginia at 7:30 this morning. We wish him luck. Bob and I clean up and go to lunch at Pepitos. On the way out of the Park we see Tom outside airing up the tires on The Pup. I heard Nan called their Grand Junction RV "The Grand", and they always call their Smart Car "The Smart", so if they would call their BIG truck "The Pup", their entire rig would be the GPS--The Grand, The Pup and The Smart! Enough of that--we're off to lunch.

I try the Chicken Monterrey which actually rivals some of Morelia's chicken entrees in Elgin, TX. It has a great white sauce and the chicken is stuffed with ham and spinach. Bob has Tilapia Verde.

On to HEB in Aransas Pass. On our way out Bob spots www.slowrideguide.com on the side of a kayak hanging from the ceiling. Back home he Googles for it and finds that they rent kayaks for $40.00 for four hours or $55 all day including drop-off, pick-up, oars and life vests.

I make Aunt Dottie's Cheeseball. Nan knocks to see if we're walking. Bob and I both walk with her and Roxy. The crew is still working on the permanent lot across from Terri and Jerry. It is windy but not as cool as yesterday and not as strong of a wind. The high is 71 degrees. Nan invites us for a movie and popcorn tonight. How fun! It's 5:20 p.m. and 60 degrees with 26% humidity.

At 6:00 we take Aunt Dot's Cheeseball, Smirnoff's and Kiliian's to The Grand. Nan makes popcorn and we watch The Proposal (Sandra Bullock, Betty White and Ryan Reynolds-is that Burt Reynolds son? LOL) It was a fun 'chick flick'; just ask Bob. We got home about 8:30. It is warm--55 degrees. There is no wind and the stars are bright.

Mobile Furnace Repair, Apple Dumplin, Laundry and Happy Hour

Monday, March 1, where did February go? I'm up at 7:00 to see that the streets are all wet. I never heard it rain or heard the front blow through. The skies are clear blue and the wind is calm now. The high gets to 71 degrees after a low of 56. I work on journal pages this morning. On-line I find the 34 TGR Grand Junction floorplan. It is a rear kitchen model. Nan and Roxy and I walk at 9:30 after breakfast. It is a gorgeous day. We see Jerry and Richard as we go around.

Bob and I are doing laundry today (so much for thinking the weather would be worse today.) Nan and I agree to meet for a walk and happy hour after later. I go home and stretch and send and email to Glenda to let her know it's okay to mail her quilted wall hanging here. I can't wait to see it.

I pack up five loads of laundry. By 11:30 we head to Keckner RV Service on 1069 just west of 35 Bypass. The parking lot is a mess and we miss the first driveway and have to circle around back. It is blocked by orange cones. It looks like you'll sink in. We back out and our newly-washed truck is full of sandy mud.

Bob describes our furnace issues and provides the model number. The guy is appreciative of that and says so. At first he says they are busy--booked up. I ask "Two weeks or what?" He says no, maybe by Thursday or Friday. Wow! A scheduler will call us by tomorrow. We're impressed that as soon as he hears the model number he knows it is a two-stage furnace. Maybe there's hope.

We head to Apple Dumplin' Deli in Rockport. Both of us opt for the special of the day--a bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo with half a sandwich. I really enjoy my tunaberry (tuna salad with whole cranberry sauce and cream cheese on toasted pumpernickel. After we order, a group of six ladies comes in and we switch tables with them. The place is packed at noon. They get their orders and all hold hands. They surprise me by raising their hands and pumping up and down twice and saying "Bon Appetit, Bon Appetit!" Gotta love it-the new religion!

We're off to the Laundromat in Aransas Pass, our favorite one. It is very clean and not buys for a Monday--wash day after all. They all clear out and we fold by ourselves. We read the San Antonio paper that we picked up on the way. The place has a change machine and it is a good thing they do as we need quarters.

As we head home the wind is blowing like crazy; they did have a wind advisory from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. gusting to 40 mph.) We stow the laundry and have a voice message from the RV repair service. They are coming out tomorrow. I call them back and she says we'll get a call tomorrow telling us when we are on the schedule. What a concept! Keeping the customer informed. Stoney's in Ohio needs to hear this.

I make Chocolate Peanut Butter Ritz cookies. Bob loads pictures on the digital picture frame and read the paper. It's 4:00 p.m., partly cloudy, windy and 69 degrees with 33% humidity. I walk with Nan but no Roxy. It's a south wind and we can't motivate against it. Sure is a tough walk.

We agree to have happy hour at our place at 5:00. The awnings flap in the wind, we have Peach Schnapps and Baileys (but it turns thick, maybe because the Schnapps was warm and the Bailey's was cold.) So not to be deterred, we stick with Schnapps straight up. Then we proceed to snack ourselves to death on Braunnsweiger Ball, cheeseball, and Nan's great crab dip. It was nice of her to bring a dish of her lentil soup. It sure smells great. We can't wait to try it. We all enjoy my St. Pat's green M & M Ritz cookies. What a fun evening. They head home in the wind around 8:30. It's 9:12 p.m. and 55 degrees.

JD's Cove Harbor Grill and Rockport Aquarium and Art Center

Sunday, February 28, I was up at 7:00. It is sunny and windy. At 9:30 I walk with Nan and Roxy. Home to stretch and we decide to axe the laundry today as it is way too sunny to do work. The high gets to 64 after a low of 49 degrees. I send an email to cancel Bob's birthday happy hour on Tuesday as schedules are not working out with everyone.

Nan and Tom may go to the Aquarium in Corpus which we have done in past years. Bob changes our printer ink cartridges as they finally give up the ghost. I Google for restaurants when we realize the Apple Dumpling in Rockport is closed on Sundays. I find JD's Cove Harbor Grill (in the old Uncle Billie's Wife's location on Bus. 35.) I introduce myself to Dan next door in the Presidential as he is outside as we leave. We head over to Rockport and find the old restaurant has been remodeled and is very cute now with a seaside flair.

There is a letter on the wall from the Rockport Chamber of Commerce about their recent ribbon cutting ceremony. It says JD was a Coastie (in the Coast Guard) in Kodiak where he met his wife. They moved here to open a restaurant. Their daughter is a waitress. It goes on to describe all new stainless steel fixtures in the kitchen, A/C in the entire building now, a remodeled dining area and "on top of all that free singing by my husband coming out of the kitchen!" And that is very true. He had 93.9 Oldies station blasting on the radio and he sang loudly to all of the tunes as he 'bammed' the spices and garnishes onto the dishes. The waitresses all sing along too.

We split a Crab Ball appetizer as it is their signature dish. It was very good with lots of crab and no filler. I have the fish tacos (grilled Mahi-Mahi) and Bob has the grilled Mahi-Mahi sandwich. We hope this place does good down here.

Next we're on to Rockport Center for the Arts. They are changing shows today so it was kind of disjointed. We struggle against the wind to get to the Rockport Aquarium across the parking lot. Two volunteers are there today and I ask the lady if she knows Julie (her and Chet were camped next to us last year at Rustic Cove.) Yes, she knows her and she still volunteers here on Thursdays. I told her to let her know we said hi. Seems Julie was kind of sick this past year. Hope she is doing better.

We finish browsing the aquarium and stop for a paper at Valero. On the way back we hop in the bird feeder/photo gallery shop on the main drag in Rockport. I find a greeting card mobile. The antique place in the little mall is closed on Sundays. Nan and I need to do the shops here but not Monday as many of them are closed.

We go home to read the paper as the wind blows and the skies are hazy. A new Grand Junction is setting up curbside-we're surrounded by them! We wave at the guy but leave him alone to set up. It's 4:10 p.m. and 64 degrees with 60% humidity. At 5:00 we put the bikes in the 'garage' as we're tired of them falling in the wind and we need to cover them to keep the salt air off. We rode them around first to see if the derailleurs are okay. I sure a got a yearning to hit the bike trails.

We knocked to see if Nan wants to walk. She'll join us for the second round as they just got home. The wind is really cold coming off the water. Nan and Roxy join us on the far side and we go around again. Our neighbor in the Grand Junction leaves in his truck so we check out his model #34 TRG, 2007. We say goodnight to Nan.

Canada won the hockey game in OT earlier. I work on the Sunday crossword. Later I leave a voice message for my niece Megan and our friend Glenda in Elgin. Glenda calls back and we chat. She's thinking about getting a webcam to stay in touch with her son Dan in NY. She tells me our Spring quilted wall-hanging is done! Wow! That was fast. I'll call her tomorrow if the office here says it's okay to send a package. We had a nice chat. She said her neighbor Donna has her new grandbaby. I work on journal pages until 9:30. The Internet connection is really slow now that the Closing Ceremonies of the Olympics have ended. Everyone must be catching up on their computer stuff.

Sculpture Garden and Market Days in Rockport

Dolphins "Off Port Bow" by Sandy Scott at Rockport Center for the Arts Sculpture Garden

Saturday, February 27, it is sunny and chilly, 45 degrees, at 7:00 a.m. Of course it is windy, coming out of the north. I check email and upload pictures of Ethan until 9:00 (thanks for the pictures 'grandma', or I should say 'Lilla', Linda's grandma name!)

Nan, Roxy and I walk at 9:30. She calls as Bob and I are having breakfast a bit later to say they're going to the Fulton Mansion today. We really enjoyed that a few years back; I sure hope they do too. I go into cleaning mode, especially the bathroom and then I vacuum the whole place. I found a piece of my bike mirror that broke off last night and was hiding in the bike cover when I shook it out this morning. So Bob glued is back on and dug out his black zip strips to repair it. Voila! Good as new.

I try to call Linda early but get her voice mail. Around 11:00 I try to call Megan. She calls back while I'm on the phone with my Mom and Dad, two very excited Great Grandparents. My folks have one picture printed from a cell phone the day Ethan was born. Dad wanted Mom to call Megan and Casey Wednesday after they all came home from the hospital but it never happened. Dad is making chicken soup. Neither one could tell me their favorite Olympic event. Mom was trying to describe some kind of skiing competition but I don't know which one she meant. Dad commented on four-man bobsledding. Mom chuckled at the comic strip she remembered from this week "Why are all of your sleds named Bob?"

When I hang up I leave another voice message for Megan. Bob and I watch Olympic Cross Country Skiing 30K and team speed skating. Around 3:15 we leave to get a paper. A little red dachshund is in the back of a pickup truck visiting our streetside neighbor from SD. Bob looks around as we head north on Business 35 and says "That was The Smart." Nan and Tom were heading the opposite direction. We try three places for a paper and finally settle for Corpus Caller-Times. As we drove by the waterfront we spotted a Market Days with 30 or 40 vendors under tents. So we hop out to walk around.

"Return of Ancient Wisdom" by Leo E. Osborne

The wind changes and comes from the south across the Gulf and is really chilly. Most of the vendors have imports and junk so we don't browse long. We drive around to Rockport Center for the Arts Sculpture Garden Bob investigates hours while I find a restroom and then we stroll the garden and I snap some pictures. Bob says the Art Center just closed at 4:00.

On our way back to the RV Park Linda calls. I'm glad I heard the phone in my purse. It was fun to chat and hear all the news about her first grandchild! Afterwards I'm reading the paper and hear a dog bark. I look out the window and see the little dachshund and a bigger dog are still in the back of the visiting pickup next door. They are barking at Nan and Roxy who are heading out for a walk. I put on a coat and join them. Tom joins us on the second round and comes in to get a piece of the paper from us. Nan takes Roxy home and joins us for a bit. I show her our Iron Out bottle as she was asking about rust stains. (Thanks Blair in Minnesota for turning us on to that!)

View of Aransas Bay marina from Sculpture Garden

They leave around 7:00 with a pink sunset and full moon to guide them home. I work the crossword and watch the Olympics. We clean some leftovers out of the fridge. It's 8:30 p.m. and 52 degrees with 63% humidity. There is an 8.8 earthquake in Chili and a tsunami predicted for Hawaii. Japan has a 6.5 earthquake. Wow!

Happy Birthday Young Bob!

Fulton Oysterfest tents along waterfront; Tom and Bob wait for the gals by Big Bertha
Friday, February 26, it is sunny this morning at 7:00 a.m. We have a light breakfast as Bob nixes my pancake idea for his birthday--too much Red Velvet Cake last night. I checked email and find our Tuesday birthday/happy hour is off. The Seabreeze folks have a cookout. I find pictures from my brother Mike (signed his email 'Gramps') of baby Ethan. My niece Megan is home from the hospital (Tuesday) and is doing well. She must be because she posted pictures on her Facebook page. Ethan looks really cute bundled up in his winter clothes so Dad Casey can take him for a 'run' in the stroller. Megan says "Mom may have overdone the bundling up." How cute! I tried to call Megan and got her voice message.

A Roseatte Spoonbill forages for lunch

Today I get the rest of my friend Jean's 'undeliverable' email and discover she's schedule for knee surgery next Friday! I called her and we had a nice chat. Her trip to Tierra del Fuego sounded great. My thoughts are with her as she 'gets all better.'

Nan and I walk with Roxy at 9;30. We wave at Jerry working on the doors of his 'man-shed.' He says he finally got a nice day to paint them. We had a nice walk. I'm spoiled having a walking partner. Back home I stretch. As I get cleaned up I keep noticing some odd smell in the back part of the bedroom. Of course I never figure out what it is and can't really describe it. We open all the windows and fun the Fantastic Fan. Probably just all the humidity down here on the Coast.

Nan and Tom at The Big Tree

At 12:45 we head to Charlottle Plummer's with Nan and Tom. Tom says my blog called them 'overbearing' wine and cheese. Egads! I better shape up and proof read these things better is somebody's actually going to read them. Spellcheck missed that for sure. As we park at the restuarant on Fulton Beach Road we see the big tents are up for Oysterfest the first weekend of March. We get a table overlooking the docks. Two couples come in and sit next to us and recognize Tom and Nan. They were in Kerrville at the rally! It really is a small RV world. One of the gals names is Nancy; they are from Wisconsin. This is their third year to stay at Ancient Oaks in Rockport. But they are moving next year to one of the two new places in Aransas Pass (The Palms) due to the mud situation at Ancient Oaks.

Nan tells our waitress right away that it's Bob's birthday. Of course he's thrilled about that-Not! Our young waitress immediately goes into a spiel about her first boyfriend being called Bobby and does Bob go by that? Not! Way too much. Nan then proceeds to make us look bad by ordering just the salad bar. Tom and I go for it all and order Shrimp Sholten. Bob of course has oysters. Our waitress redeems herself by bringing Coconut Cheesecake for Bob's birthday dessert. Yumm!

Bob drives the Fulton Beach Road north to Copano Bay Bridge. On the way I hop out just past Alice Fay's on the Bay to take a picture of this Roseatte Spoonbill splashing in a pond for fish. After we cross the bridge and turn east towards Goose Island State Park we troll the back roads searching for The Big Tree. Tom spots a small sign at the last minute. We pose for pictures and read the placques like all good tourists. We talk to a couple on the bench from near Rockford, IL, where Tom's sister lives.

Back across the bridge we drive along Copano Bay to Airport Park where we walk on the oyster shell beach. The wind is blowing the waves hard into shore. It is warm with a high of 69 degrees but it sure is windy. As we head back to our RV Park an EMT vehicle passes us on 35 Bypass. It turns out there is a wreck across from our RV Park. That always makes you wonder if it's one of your fellow campers.

The birthday boy and Reet pose in front of The Big Tree

We arrive home with no newspaper. Bummer. Nan, Bob and I walk at 4:30. We find Tom in Tiny (their big truck) hunting up their liquor stash for happy hour later. We climb up in the cab and get a view. They sure have lots of great storage in there. Our walk is without Roxy as she went for a swim earlier. Terry and Jerry invite us around back to join their happy hour so we use her cell phone to call Tom. He brings a Reisling and joins us. Ann and Jerry are there too. Ann is nice enough to walk to their place for chairs for us. We chat, drink and have snacks as the sun goes down and the wind comes up. We leave around 7:00 and reconvene at Nan and Tom's for Braunnsweiger Ball, cheese ball and birthday cake.

Roscoe and Roxy entertain us. We get to watch some curling as they have satellite. Later we tune in to Short Track on NBC as the wind howls and interferes with the TV reception. Those guys surprise Bob with a 6-pack of Killians and a birthday card. How nice! Tom and I polish off his Kaluha. We head home at 9:45. The wind blew our bikesover. We should not have moved them. That darn cover catches the wind. My mirrow got broken off.

I missed a voice message from new grandmother Linda (she emailed three pics of Ethan) and another call from Glenda wishing Bob a happy rush to geezerdom.

It's 4:25 p.m. and 69 degrees with 27% humidity.

Pre-Birthday Happy Hour

Thursday, February 25, I got on-line this morning at 7:00 a.m. to read an email from Bud and Billie. They are bugging out today! They head to Albuquerque and then Bud has to be in Alexandria, VA, on 3/3 and in Yei, Sudan on 3/5! Wow! I'm so glad we got to see them before they left and we wish them safe travels.

My friend Jean in Austin has returned from her three-week trip to Tierra del Fuego. I can't wait to hear all about it and see her pictures. Something happened with her email and the one picture she sent to it is all hung up in my ISP's undeliverable box.

Most of the Seabreeze crowd can't make Bob's birthday bash so we might try to reschedule. We sure would like to see all of them. I try to call Nan. She says she was on the phone with her Mom. She calls back and we agree to walk at 10:00. It is sunny and chilly but much warmer today already as the wind is out of the south.

After breakfast I call Marty at Seabreeze to check schedules. Then I send out a new email to try a birthday/happy hour celebration on Tuesday. Nan, Roxy and I take a walk. Lois and Richard grab their two little dogs as we go by. Nan says they got loose from their peg in the ground yesterday. Nan and Tom toured Mustang Island and South Padres yesterday. Tom said the area was asking for loans back in the 80's so he checked out some of the real estate prices.

After our walk Nan and I agree to go to Wal-Mart at 11:00. Bob is loading digital pictures onto our frame. I love to see new ones pop up and be reminded of some fun part of our travels that I had forgotten about. I get cleaned up and walk over to give Nan some handouts and coupons I picked up yesterday (3 seafood dip recipe card, $2.00 off Aquarium tickets and a Red Tide danger brochure.)

It was fun to browse Wal-Mart at leisure. Of course I get more than I thought I needed. Nan is nice enough to stop so I can get a paper at the convenience store on the corner. Back home we find Bob cleaning the inside of Big Bertha. Nan tackles the outside of their rig and car. I work on correspondence-very low key.

Bob and I go to Rockport Thrift Store but find no good books or puzzles. We have lunch at Apple Dumpling (thanks Billie for telling us about this place two years ago!) I have the Waldorf Chicken Salad Sandwich on huge homemade pumpernickel bread. with a heavenly cinnamon mayonnaise. Bob has tuna on huge, fresh whole wheat and we both enjoy tomato basil soup. I was here with our neighbor Julie from Rustic Cove RV Park last year and with Billie once but Bob has not eaten here. We'll be back.

We go through the automatic car wash so now Big Bertha is clean inside and out. Back home Nan is still working on their rig. It is a nice day for it though. The high is only 63 and the wind is a little chilly. A new RV arrives on our row. Nan and Tom said they met the neighbor from SD in the Presidential on our streetside. He was here, then went down to Mission in the Valley, and now he's back again. He heads back to SD where he lives on 3/15. He says he has been sick with a cold.

We read the paper and put out a spread for happy hour with those guys. Nan and Tom arrive at 4:30 with a cheese ball, crackers and wine. It's too windy to have our treats outside. I add my Braunnsweiger Ball, pumpernickel bread and mango Smirnoffs. We chat and snack until the Olympics start at 7:00. Of course we sing Happy Birthday as we cut Bob's Red Velvet Cake a day early. After all we have to eat this thing now that the crowd from Seabreeze is not coming tomorrow.

Korea takes gold in lady's figure skating. The Canadian gal who lost her Mom takes bronze. What a fun evening. Nan and I walk at 9:30. It's 11:32 p.m. and 57 degrees. We're having late nights with these Olympics. I ended up with a migraine early this morning, very unusual now days for me. But I took a magic pill after breakfast and it was gone by noon thankfully.
